Being a dad isn't something I decided. It's something I've assumed about myself for as long as I can remember.
I just took a long road to get here.
I'm 46, I live in Santa Monica, and I've spent my career in real estate.
I've built a life with the stability and the time to give a child real attention, and my family and close friends are already woven into this plan.
On a free Saturday you'll find me swimming, at yoga, or out for a run, and almost certainly making a trip to Home Depot, because I like building and fixing things.
Mostly I like being around people I love.
My friends would tell you I'm funny, loyal, and steady.
I'm the one who organizes everyone, and somehow the one people come to with their secrets and for advice.
I'm easy to be around, a bit spontaneous, and I listen more than I talk.
What I'm proudest of is the people I've drawn into my life: kind, grounded people who value each other more than status or things. That's the world a child of mine would grow up in.
And what I'd most want to give a child is permission. Not pressure to be someone, not competition with anyone. Just the freedom to be happy as they are.
If something here resonates with you, I'd love to hear from you.
You'd be giving a child a life, and giving me the family I've wanted my whole life.
I'd be grateful beyond words for the chance to talk.
